This review is from: Dirt Devil Style 1 Vacuum Belt (2-Pack), 3157260001 (Kitchen) These belts are thinner and also have fewer layers of reinforcement within the rubber than actual Dirt Devil belts. The ad wording is a little deceptive by stating they are Genuine Dirt Devil style belts. Same style but not close to genuine Dirt Devil quality. Poor Quality - Same Cost as Brand Name

Paper too thin, get a HEPA - standard quality filter, it can be generic, if it paper quality was included in this filter, not worth a dime. This was my first replacement for my great little dirt devil. My vacuum is new and only 3 small rooms I vacuum regularly, but my dog tracks a lot of hair and mud so I need to replace the filter more often than most. This was the first F2 filter with the cylindrical cone shape I needed, so I ordered it without considering how the quality would differ. The paper is so thin in comparison to the name brand and original filter that instead of lasting through a dozen dirt-packed vacuums it lasted only through 2 dirt-packed vacuums. Barely, at that, since the paper was so thin I could not twist filer from top because it failed to untwist the bottom part, the stiff quality filters can be twisted (unlocked) if you grab it anywhere. The thin paper held less dirt, and I had a very hard time trying to quickly brush open the filter segments to empty dirt to... 1/5 Scuba Man (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Filters the cost, it crazy of paper&plastic.

Its not that cheap to replace a small paper&plastic filter and makes keeping the dirt devil a waste of money. I purchase my dirst devil at xmas for $20 but in less the one year three filter it now cost $41 and the years not done. Bull on them for the cost to replace this small filter. For the you pay it should be more like two or three filters. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 9, 2010

    Powerful, Noisy, Awkward

I got this vac for cleaning up a small space, just a room, and did not need a whole upright thing.I can say that this unit must have a very powerful motor- when you turn it on, it sounds like a Corvette at 6000 rpm and there does not seem to be anything built into the product to lessen this clamor. The unfortunate thing is that all this power as you would think from the sound(s) that it makes does not seem to translate into a lot of suction power. But the brush is very powerful and distinguishis this product from other "Dustbuster" type hand vacs.As a handheld vaccum, I do find its brush powerful to get things like cookie crumbs and whatnot out of a cheap synthetic carpet but beware, it is really loud. Well, one other good thing is that the bags are easily available.Probably you can find another handheld vac that is quieter but beware that some "Dustbuster" - style vacs do not have a sweeping powerful brush, they just inhale loose debris. So consider it... 4/5 Twain - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Ultra Corded Bagged Handheld Vacuum, M08230RED (Kitchen) I got this vac for cleaning up a small space, just a room, and did not need a whole upright thing.I can say that this unit must have a very powerful motor- when you turn it on, it sounds like a Corvette at 6000 rpm and there does not seem to be anything built into the product to lessen this clamor. The unfortunate thing is that all this power as you would think from the sound(s) that it makes does not seem to translate into a lot of suction power. This is the best hand held vac I have ever owned!

If I were reading all the rest of the reviews of this product, I would have never bought it. Fortunately, I knew much better. I bought this vacuum over 10 years ago, and yes, there were problems with the belt coming off/breaking. However, after getting it repaired, I never had any more problems. It lasted a good 10 years and was the most powerful hand held vac I ever owned. After it finally died, I purchased many many others since I couldn't find it anywhere. I was so sick of the pet hair and trying to constantly use those rollers to pick it up, but no other vacuum cleaner ever worked. I finally found this a couple of months ago on-line and immediately bought it. They have upgraded the product. It is much better than the original, so do not read the older reviews since all the problems with the belt have been resolved. It has the most suction of any (including my upright) vacuum I have ever used. It has can be switched from low to high power, so the issues with it being loud do not... 5/5 Picky Person - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Ultra Corded Bagged Handheld Vacuum, M08230RED (Kitchen) If I were reading all the rest of the reviews of this product, I would have never bought it. Great on Stairs, Awful on Bare Floors

0 3/5 That Girl (Lexington, KY) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Ultra Corded Bagged Handheld Vacuum, M08230RED (Kitchen) I bought this (to replace a dying DustBuster) so I could pick up bits of cat litter on the bathroom floor. I thought it was doing a fine job. But one day, after I'd had it for a week or so, I was cleaning in my bare feet, and felt individual pieces of litter flying at my ankles. The brush/rotator thingie was basically just launching little cat-litter missles onto whatever was behind it--in this case, me, and the carpet in the adjoining room. So much for cleaning!I like the Dirt Devil on (carpeted) stairs a lot, although it is really, really loud (I wear earplugs). It has a very long cord, so one can vacuum the whole staircase without having to unplug/re-plug. But I don't recommend it on bare floors.I guess I'll need to get another DustBuster! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 21, 2005
